AMC Names New Positions

American Medical Careers has announced the appointments of Lou Garcia as Business Development Specialist, Kathy Redman as Manager of the school’s Lansing campus and Rich Wiehe as Chief Operating Officer.

“We are delighted to have the services of these highly qualified people to help us with our fast-paced expansion,” said Karl Kaufman, president of American Medical Careers.  “During the past several months, we’ve dramatically increased our offering of medical training programs, including the introduction of an exciting one year LPN program at our Flint Campus, and the move to a larger campus in Lansing.

AMC Announces Move to Larger Campus in Lansing

New Medical Assistant program to begin September 4, 2007

 

American Medical Careers, which provides skilled training for entry-level positions in the medical field, has moved its Lansing campus to a much larger facility located at 930A W. Holmes, adjacent to S. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Currently celebrating its five-year anniversary, American Medical Careers has rapidly expanded its program offerings.    Among its patient care specialist programs, students can earn certifications as nurse’s aides (CNA), phlebotomy technicians (CPT), EKG technicians (CET), patient care technicians (CPCT), pharmacy technicians (CPhT), clinical medical assistants (CCMA), medical administrative assistants (CMAA), and home health aide (CHHA).

AMC Receives 2007 Business Award

American Medical Careers was recently honored with the Service Business award, presented by the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce at its 2007 Business Awards banquet.  Also nominated for the corporate citizenship award, American Medical Careers was recognized for providing skilled medical training to the unemployed and underemployed to help them get jobs.


“This honor is a tremendous testament to our vision and mission,” said Patrice Kaufman, American Medical Careers vice president who founded the school in 2002 with her husband Karl Kaufman, RN.

AMC Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary

American Medical Careers is celebrating its fifth year in operation since it began offering certified nurse aide training in Flint in 2002. Originally established as Genesee CNA Academy, it has rapidly expanded its curriculum to seven certified medical training programs, with more to be introduced this year.  In 2003, the school opened a second campus in Lansing to accommodate the growing demand.

“We’ve trained approximately 500 people each year through our programs in Flint and Lansing,” said Karl Kaufman, president of American Medical Careers.  “Many of our students come from the ranks of the unemployed or underemployed who are looking for new career opportunities.  For many, completing our training program and obtaining their state or national certification is their first recognized achievement.”
