Our Background
American Medical Careers is a training center for entry-level medical professionals. Originally established in 2002 as Genesee CNA Academy, our campus is located in the Great Lakes Technology Centre in Flint, Michigan.
We offer concentrated, short-term training programs that prepare students to receive health care certifications and obtain valuable skills up a career ladder in the medical field.
In 2006, American Medical Careers received approval from the Michigan State Board of Nursing to offer an innovative one-year Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate program. Genesys RegionalMedical Center is the school’s clinical partner for the LPN program which begans in the Fall 2007. We are only one of three career schools in Michigan approved to offer this training. This model will allow students to move from our LPN program to Registered Nurse (RN) programs at community colleges and universities.
Since our founding, American Medical Careers has trained more than 2,500 people for entry level medical careers. We also work actively with Workforce Development agencies to move underemployed and unemployed individuals into meaningful work and careers.
Our goal is to provide more than just career skills, rather to provide people with the tools and skills that can transform their lives, and provide new and unlimited opportunities for themselves, their families and their communities. For many, it’s just the beginning to “learn for life.”
Mission
At American Medical Careers, our mission is to make a difference by providing career training that leads to family sustaining employment.
