Certified Nurse Aides work under the supervision of nurses to assist patients with personal care and basic needs. Employment opportunities include hospitals, nursing homes, adult daycare centers, assisted living facilities, clinics, private homes and community health organizations. Well suited for those interested in working with the ill, elderly, injured, or disabled.
Schedule:
Length: 3 weeks
Week 1: Mon.-Fri. 8-2:30 pm
Week 2: Mon.-Thurs. 8-2:30 pm, Fri. 8-2 pm
Week 3: Mon.-Thurs. 7 am-11 am at clinical site
Includes 36 hours lecture, 23 hours laboratory skills training and 16 hours of clinical on-the-job experience.
Total program hours: 75

Certification:
Students are provided with the specific training and skills required to pass the State of Michigan Nurse Aide Certification examination after completion of this program.
Enrollment requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 17 years of age at start of training
- No felony or misdemeanor convictions or current charges pending
- Pass a reading comprehension exam
